Quote and unquote

When Barack Obama’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, is quoted – again and again – for having said “never allow a good crisis to go to waste”, we’re driven to grub through memory’s attic for other appropriate one-liners, adaptable for oil spill bloggery.
“Attention must be paid”, from Death of A Salesman; “I’m not saying we won’t get our hair mussed”, from Dr. Strangelove; “I am shocked….” (Casablanca); “I’ll think about it tomorrow” (Gone With the Wind); “I coulda been a contender” (On the Waterfront).
“Houston, we’ve got a problem”? Too obvious, but probably today’s winning entry. But wait, there’s “Sunset Boulevard”. And in a lighter vein, how about any amount of material in the “Carry On” films?
Interestingly, there seem to be no memorable one-liners, usable in the context of a maritime disaster, after
“Dr. Strangelove”.
If I’m just a nostalgic fogy, sunk into anecdotage, tell me so. I can take it.
