		<description>Although I have not read the original article, your comments remind me of the increasing gap between our (sometimes) antiquated ship familiarization training, and the deepening knowledge required to safely operate sophisticated vessels and equipment. There are some great examples of modern approaches to job/vessel/route familiarization (such as the BC Ferries SEA program) which will hopefully soon be the norm rather than the exception.</description>
